Since 1926 KNEA has published a list of recommended books by reading level as a service for school librarians and classroom teachers.

KNEA members serve on the Kansas NEA Reading Circle Commission to read and screen the best children’s literature published each year. Since 1926 KNEA has published a list of recommended books by reading level as a service for school librarians and classroom teachers.

Recommended lists from recent years are available here in the KNEA Reading Circle Database.

Publishers and authors are invited to participate with the KNEA Reading Circle by submitting printed copies of newly released books to our Reading Circle Commissioners for their consideration. For detailed participation guidelines and the list of current commissioners waiting to review your books, contact [email protected].
