Why is it that when discussions about education are arranaged by policy-makers, the voices of teachers are not sought?


Kansas teachers go to their classrooms every day and work hard to bring children to ever higher levels of achievement. And they deliver; Kansas is ranked seventh in the US in student achievement.

Now, after years of legislative cuts to school finance, the Governor wants to know how our schools can be more “efficient.” To figure it out, he put together a panel of accountants who have invited school board members, central office administrators, and an anti-public education think tank to share their thoughts. But not a single teacher.
