COSEBOC School Awards
The Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC) is pleased to announce the second annual COSEBOC School Awards, intended to celebrate preK-12 schools that are demonstrating success in educating boys and young men of color. COSEBOC Award-winning schools will receive a $10,000 grant and their promising practices will be featured at our next Gathering of Leaders April 2013, in Chicago, Illinois.
We encourage schools to apply whose population is at least 25% male students of color (African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic, Native American, Multi-racial) and those boys’ academic achievement is at least equal to the state average. COSEBOC welcomes applications from a wide range of schools - preK-12; public, private, charter; coed and single gender. Schools do not need to be a member of COSEBOC to apply and/or be selected.
The application, guidelines and forms are available at: http://www.coseboc.org/school-award.htm. Interested schools should review the guidelines and complete the application process by November 16, 2012.
Thank you for applying and/or helping us spread the word to potential award-winning schools.
